Preparation

Slice croissants in half lengthwise.

Whisk together milk, eggs, and vanilla. Pour into a shallow dish. Dip croissant halves into egg mixture, coating well.

Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add four croissant halves, and cook about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Repeat procedure with remaining butter and croissant halves. Sprinkle with powdered sugar; top with Sweetened Whipped Cream, if desired, and Fresh Strawberry Syrup.

This is an outstanding french toast recipe. I have made this numerous times for family get togethers and it has been a hit each time. I would not change a thing including the syrup!! Will continue to keep in my recipes for future use.10/21/09

This is better than any restaurant French Toast I've had, including 5 star hotels!! It's certainly wonderful for special occasions, but it's so good that it'd be a shame not to make it weekly. I didn't use any orange rind & it turned out just as good. Try making the Potato, Mushroom & Pesto Omelet for a sweet and solid balance.07/28/09
