I made no alterations to this recipe, so I was very shocked when I got such a bland, flat, and sweet result. Other than a very slight spicy hint from the spices, the only flavor in sight was the golden raisins which -- when surrounded by such blandness -- made this entrée taste more like a rice pudding with chicken than chicken biryani. Not really sure what could be the problem with this, we usually like this sort of recipe.09/26/09

Was disappointed with the lackluster flavor of this dish. I followed the recipe, with the exception of adding 1/2 tsp cayenne and increasing the amount of cumin because we enjoy hot & spicy food, but it still came out 'flat' in flavor. Not sure if I'll make this again, but if I do I'll definitely increase the spices and maybe add some different ones.05/29/08
