This recipe goes with Mixed Grill Kebabs with Guava BBQ Sauce
Yield: Makes about 2 cups
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable oil
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup guava nectar
- 8 ounces guava paste or jelly
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/3 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Hot sauce to taste
Preparation
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in guava nectar and remaining ingredients. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened.
