Worthy of a Special Occasion

Yield: 4 appetizer servings

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  salsa or picante sauce
  • 1/4  cup  honey
  • 1/2  teaspoon  ground ginger
  • 1 1/2  pounds  chicken wing pieces

Preparation

Stir together first 3 ingredients in a large bowl. Add wing pieces, tossing to coat. Place on an aluminum foil-lined 15- x 10-inch jellyroll pan.

Bake at 400° for 55 minutes or until chicken is done, turning once.

These wings tasted like plain, ordinary wings -- I used half mild/half medium salsa. Maybe they should have marinated for a long time? I just combined before I baked. Too blah; we will not make again.01/01/10

These are very easy and a great appetizer. I would definitely make these again...and would consider them simple enough for a week night meal, as well. The flavor is sweet, but mild...excellent.02/02/09
