Worthy of a Special Occasion

Yield: Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1  teaspoon  salt
  • 1/2  teaspoon  garlic powder
  • 1/2  teaspoon  chili powder
  • 1/2  teaspoon  dried oregano
  • 1/4  teaspoon  ground red pepper
  • 4  (8-ounce) rib-eye steaks

Preparation

Combine first 5 ingredients, and rub over steaks. Let stand 1 hour.

Grill, covered with grill lid, over high heat (400° to 500°) 7 minutes. Turn steaks, and grill 5 more minutes or to desired degree of doneness.

I made this yesterday. I reduced the salt to 1/2 tsp, however. I used my George Foreman grill because it is COLD here in Michigan! Did not want to be outside grilling. The steaks were at 150 degrees at 7 minutes. After a five minute rest, the two rib steaks were delish! I served simple baked potatoes (yukon gold) with fresh cream and steamed broccoli florets & carrots tossed with a raspberry balsamic dressing. Dark chocolate for dessert. Great dinner.01/26/09
