Yield: 1 gallon

Ingredients

  • 6  cups  water
  • 4  family-size tea bags
  • 1  to 1 3/4 cups sugar

Preparation

Bring 6 cups water to a boil in a saucepan; add tea bags. Boil 1 minute; remove from heat. Cover and steep 10 minutes. Remove tea bags, squeezing gently.

Add sugar, stirring until dissolved. Pour into a 1-gallon pitcher, and add enough water to fill pitcher. Serve over ice.

LOVE SWEET TEA.....I too only use 3 tea bags and a cup of sugar...but its all according to your sweet tooth. Great summer tea, refreshing and we go thru a gallon of this or more also a day. A SUMMER STAPLE!!!! ( just a note, while steeping the tea, add a pinch of baking soda, this takes out bitterness !)06/18/06
