This was excellent with some modifications. We used buffalo but stuck to the recipe the first time. The burgers were good, but we thought that the recipe could be improved. The second time, we mixed the marinate and onion into the meat (with only half of the syrup)when making the patties. After turning the burgers once, we based with the chili sauce/jalapeno jelly combo. We then turned them over again for a minute to melt the sharp cheddar. No flare ups. The whole party loved them, even those who had never tried buffalo before.07/05/06
