Outstanding

"This recipe is great for people who love both (mayonnaise-dressed) coleslaw and Waldorf salad yet need to watch their cholesterol. The raisins and apples, in addition to the cabbage, give this salad a nice crunch. Fruits and nuts also boost the fiber." --CL Reader

Even after reading the reviews, I was skeptical. I love coleslaw, but my husband has forever sworn off cabbage. I altered nothing out of fear and served the waldorf coleslaw with trepidation. Not only did my husband say, "I can eat this," (translation "OMG this is great!"), he polished off the rest of it the following day. It's a miracle! Once again I can make coleslaw!!12/14/09

This recipe was as awesome as everybody said it was. I used red cabbage (very pretty!) and added pre-packaged shredded carrots. I used a McIntosh apple instead of Granny Smith. I used yogurt only, no mayo and added a bit of lemon juice. I also omitted the horseradish sauce because I didn't have any. No matter! None of these changes compromised the dish--it was cool, crunchy and refreshing. I will make this again and again.07/05/09
