Worthy of a Special Occasion

A crisp combination of ingredients makes bul (BOOL) a refreshing sipper. It's a popular summer drink, often prepared in Cuban homes. It's best made with a pale ale or light-colored beer.

Yield: 4 servings (serving size: about 3/4 cup)

Ingredients

  • 1/3  cup  fresh lime juice
  • 1  (12-ounce) bottle beer, chilled
  • 1  (12-ounce) bottle ginger ale, chilled
  • 4  lime slices (optional)

Preparation

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a pitcher. Serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices, if desired.

This is a wonderful summer drink. It's light, but has a lot of flavor and a minimal amount of alcohol. Everyone we serve it to asks for the recipe. Also works with NA beer.05/20/05

My father used to make when I was growing up in Miami but he didn't use ginger ale. The ingredients were beer, lots of lime juice and some sugar. Mix well and serve over ice. He always refered to it souped up lemonade....04/20/05
