I made this for my annual Cookie swap and my guests loved it. I halved the recipe and used my crock pot to keep it warm. I put it on high about an hour before the guests arrived. The bonus was how good the house smelled. I will probably not make it often because it makes a lot of cider- even halved, but it is a must for holiday entertaining. 12/12/08

I tried this recipe with less sugar as others have indicated and it was very good. I strongly recommend using no more than 1 1/2 cups of sugar (or less), depending on your tastes. I used whole allspice and it was fine. This is refreshing on a cold day. 01/20/03

I think that the cloves overpower the flavor. My book club gave it very good reviews. 11/13/02

The recipe sounds flavorfull, but I would used whole allspice and cloves, for I think that the ground spices would cloud the liquid. I will be trying this during cold and snowy days and the holidays. 10/19/02

This is a wonderful recipe, however when I made it the first time it was too sweet, so the next I made it I used 1 1/2 cups. It was great. depends upon your taste. 10/19/02

I would use 1 c. sugar instead of 2 & use whole spices as well--wouldn't be so cloudy. Sounds great! 10/19/02
